Northern Iraq

(from left to right Pastor Layth, Pastor Weam and Pastor Jim)       Pastor Layth and his family are pastoring the "Free Methodist Church" in the Kurdish region of Iraq. The church there has a vision to reach the Kurdish people with the love of Jesus Christ. They are preaching the gospel, equipping the saints for ministry and raising up leaders to one day take the gospel throughout Iraq and the Middle East. Working with them is Pastor Weam who recently moved from Bagdad to the Kurdish region praying for God's direction to open up a church and continue the vision of making disciples.

We met Layth in May, 2008 while holding a bible conference in the area and out of that meeting we have began to work closley with him and his church. I was able to go back to the Kurdish region of Iraq in September, 08 and spend time with Layth and their congregation. They are doing a great work for the Lord and believing God to meet the financial needs for them to build a building for their church on a piece of land that has been donated to them by the local government. Please continue to pray for Pastor Layth and their ministry that they will see the vision that God has planted in their hearts come to pass. With all of the negative reports we here on the news it is refreshing to know that there are some wonderful things happening in the nation of Iraq.

We are honored to be networking with Layth and look forward to many more trips into Kurdistan of Northern Iraq to help advance the gospel by Winning people to Christ, Building strong fruitful disciples and Sending out workers to plant churches throughout the region.
